The footer's in, the walls are formed and waiting for concrete, the timber cart works!! Now it's on. More photos soon!

Tiiiimmmberrrr!

It seems like it's been a really long time since my last post. Other than working on the shop (pics to come) and clearing some more brush there really hasn't been much to report. That all changed yesterday morning when a truck delivered a couple thousand board feet of white pine to our doorstep. The photos are of one of two stacks of 8x8, 6x8 and 4x7 white pine from Annapolis Valley Nova Scotia. We unloaded them by hand one at a time and then spent some time organizing and re-stacking the massive posts and beams. This is some seriously heavy stuff! The largest piece required for the house is 8x8 inches and 16 feet long! To move them I'll be building a cart of sorts with some much needed help from my father-in-law and his welder. If all goes well I should have some joinery pics next week. Stay tuned!
